What is Interlibrary Loan?

Answer

Interlibrary Loan is a worldwide cooperative resource-sharing service that enables libraries to borrow and lend scholarly research resources between each other.

All faculty, staff, and all currently enrolled students at Bowie State University can request materials through interlibrary loan.

Every user must create an ILLiad (InterLibrary Loan internet accessible database) account.

The types of materials that can be requested:

  • Books that are not owned by any of USMAI libraries.
  • Scholarly journal articles for journal title not owned by Thurgood Marshall Library.
